This hotel is located on the beach. Great ocean views. Easy access to local attractions. Located in a small resort area with a great shopping loaction within walking distance. Definately will visit again.

the royal lahaina website makes it look good but you get there and the rooms are not impressive at all. luckily we only had to stay one night. they do have a pretty nice beach and they have a luau every night, which might not be good for people who don't want to hear yelling and drums every night.

this was such a great hotel. it's in a central location, close to front street (the place w/ all the shopping and restaurants), close to activity destinations, and close to the beach. you literally get off the elevator, pass the pools walk down like seven steps and you're on the neach, toes in the sand and all. the lahaina beach also ...

The Royal Lahaina Resort is in an excellent location, right on the Kaanapali beach. The resort is in the middle of two great locations for snorkeling. There's Black Rock to the South of the Hotel and a beautiful reef to the North.
A giant turtle lives at Black Rock, in the cove area under the Sheraton.

Skip it when it comes to Mountainview. The rooms were disgustingly dirty & smelly! Oceanfront: a little bit above average in cleanliness, decent island style type furnishings. I stayed there last summer, the view was ok... if you enjoy staring out your back door and seeing golfers... we stayed in a cottage. the shower was cold, the walls were a bit too thin for my liking, but overall it was beautiful. the service was great. the staff was very accomadating and polite. I would go there again! (just in a different room)

i like the fact that that hotel was located on the kannapali beach and wow the beach was so beautiful. i would wake up each morning to the sound of the waves breaking on shore and every night you could hear the hotel having a luau and you can actually see the performances from the balcony! the only thing i didn't like about the hotel was the restroom because the bathroom door was a sliding door! but over all it was awesome!

The room was small and very out dated. The bed was uncomfortable and hard (remember the old skinny blue mattresses? that's them!). The sheets were worn and the blanket was old, ripped and freyed. The bathroom had meldew, chipped tiles and peeling wallpaper and the air conditioning was on it's last leg.
