As a former owner in Maui Vista I was pleased to see that the HOA has continued to make upgrades to the grounds and facilities. New elevators (a rarity in and of itself in most condos on Maui) have been installed in the buildings; the grounds are in great shape; and the removal of the old bedroom A/C units has improved the footing on the walkways. ...

7 Years visiting Maui Vista

There are three buildings, each has a pool and tennis courts. I have stayed there for seven years during the month of February and it is the best value for only $100-$110 per night. I book through Maui Suncoast Realty and they have one and two bedroom units, some with ocean views and some with mountain views. See you Feb 2008 if you decide to come!!

Would highly NOT recommend it

The room we got assigned to was not worth the money we had to pay for it. It was very outdated - I was under the impression that renovations had taken place in 2001. The stove was ancient and the switches were so worn out that we couldn't tell how high/low we had the stove on. It didn't work consistently either - it would work one day ...

When I made this reservation I was not told the office is open from 9a-3pm (local). Our plane didnt arrive until after 5pm. When we got to the hotel we were horrified to find the office closed. We came across some folks in the parking lot that stated there were workers "up there". We circled and circled and couldn't find anybody. ...

Pros: Friendly staff, large rooms, convenient location, great price!
Cons: When booking our reservation, we clearly requested a non-smoking room. Upon check in, when we double-checked on the non-smoking status of the room, the front desk clerk asked us to give him back our room key. He then told us that our room would be ready in about 20 ...
have stayed here many times. great price, homey atmosphere, walking distance to beaches, restaurants and sundries stores. Safeway grocery store close with great lomi salmon in deli. and farmers market up Kihei road with great produce.

Inconsistent, but can be OK

The ratings I used may not apply to the Maui Vista "resort" itself, as we rent directly from an owner who lives in their unit part of the year so they keep it in good condition. With a direct rental, we have almost no contact with the front desk and pay a lower price than people who bought a vacation package or went through a resort ...
One of our primary requirements for a room near the beach on Maui is air conditioning. We've tried doing without it the past, but between the heat and the noise flowing in from the open windows, we found it almost impossible to sleep.
Months before our trip, we book an air-conditioned room at the Maui Vista Resort. When we arrived, ...
