This is a cheap hotel. It has all of the required ammenities from about 50 years ago. Very dated. The front desk didn't demonstrate much "Aloha". It is one of the cheapest however. Not the place to take your wife to impress her.

Not #1, but close

When I came back from sightseeing, the beds were always made. My roommate and I did discover a few cockroaches in the sink, though. It was close to some delicious restaurants and shops like the ABC store and Kimo's Buffet. However, the pool hours were only from 9-6, which made it hard to swim.

Great place to Visit

It's one of the best values in Kailua-Kona. It is not for everyone, because is is not a luxury hotel or resort like the resorts out north on the Kona Coast. You should be careful like you would on the Mainland, lock your door and don't keep valuables in sight. There are many poor people in this area who can't wait to steal your stuff. ...
The hotel's location was great, being close to the beach, restauratns, shops and the highway. Hotel staff was overall friendly. The room was comfortable but lacked basic amenities such as shampoo and softer towels.
If you don't want to spend too much on accomodation, but aim for basic comfort and are happy with a no-frills atmosphere, the Kona Seaside is perfect. We would stay there again.

Family run hotel that provides excellent and friendly service. If you are tired of paying big bucks, try this hotel on for size. you will not be disappointed.
