This property is essentially a collection of buildings: the main building which is structured like a hotel sits right on the beach; the rest are basically condos across the street. We opted to save a few dollars and get a garden view room, which put us in a unit across the street, and on the third floor.

The Kona Reef is actually a condo complex and every room is actually maintained by the people who own it. The result is there is not a lot of quality control on the rooms. A short walk to town and resturants. The oceanfront condo, D-12, we stayed in was very clean and well appointed. It felt like home. We will stay there again on our next trip to Kona.
