I really enjoyed my stay there. It's next to a harbor where the local kids swim and hang out during the day. The people there were very friendly and the prices were affordable. Late night parking is hard to find. The walls are thin. The rooms are clean. It's definitely not a 5 star hotel but a place I would recommend.

OK location near a small boat harbor. The rooms are clean. Restaurant is average, with a top notch one within walking distance.

I love staying at the Hilo Seaside because of its quaint charm, and closer to Hawaii experience. While it isn't your five star hotel, when I come to Hilo I'm ready for a quiet, quaint experience at my hotel. I travel to Hilo on business 3x a year, and always stay here.

If the pictures look bad, it is worse at this place. The rooms are dingy and though clean, there was still smell of cigar smoke. It say's by the ocean - true only by a distance. No food options. Parking is a night mare.

Don't ever use this hotel. Its better to sleep in your car.
