First, notice that there has not been a review on this hotel in over a year and a half. Someone got smart and read the reviews prior to booking a stay. There are a NUMBER of problems with this hotel, parking being the biggest, the rooms are old and out dated and smell. Many of the rooms were closed off because they were in such bad condition. We ...
Stayed here a few years back and all was well,Beautiful koi pond out front.Close to ocean.Go to breakfast place by the airport instead. In room fridge.Comfy.
The first room they gave us stunk so bad we allmost regurtated. The second room was small bit comfortable. The service was very good but they have no elevators and you have to go up and down amaze of stairs to get to your room.

Visit the 3rd world without a Passport !

Do not consider this property. The place is so run down, it should not be allowed to operate. While on vacation to the Big Island, for the 3rd time on that island, we decided to try for a helicopter tour of the volcano. We found out that it was much cheaper to ride helicopters on the Eastern Hilo side, rather than the Western Kona side where our 5* ...

When we visit the big island we visit the island. A hotel room is for rest up for the next day. The rooms are clean the service is great, the workers all friendly. Us locals like to enjoy the island as much as the room. As long as we have our privacy and not so much outsiders it's all good. Hilo seaside is a place only the locals or people with qualities like us locals can appreciate as much as we do. The others spoiled.
This location is very close to the airport and convenient for persons just arriving in Hawaii and too tired to travel. There is a nice restaurant on the premises but not much difference between the rooms overlooking the garden and the more expensive ones overlooking the ocean. I recommend reserving the least expensive room!

The staff are both friendly and helpfull. Located away from other hotels and close to other food locations. 1 minute drive to the airport and close to other attractions.

There is a better place to stay....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/07
I stayed here one night but found the rates cheaper at Country Club Hawaii down the street on Banyan Drive. It was also much cleaner and nicer. It's a condo hotel. I stayed in #420 which had an great ocean view from the lanai, a kitchenette and two double beds for $79 a night. It is the best place for the money, especially if you are on a budget.

WORST HOTEL EVER!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/07
Small room. Strong smell of smoke. No "Ocean View", only big old trees. Terrible customer service. I was supposed to stay 3 nights, and left after 11:00pm & slept in rental car.

Not a lot of choices
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/04/06
Not a great place but adequate -- Hilo doesn't offer a lot or really good ones. Rooms are something straight out of 1970 or so but okay: clean, comfortable bed but spartan. Can be noisy. Needs updating really bad. For Hawaii tho' this is really, really cheap. For Hilo, this is fairly good. Biggest problem is parking--completely inadequate and didn't feel very safe walking 2 blocks(!) to find on-the-street parking.
