we would stay here againThe rooms are aged and worn, but the staff and location made up for it.

We think it's Quaint.Our family stayed her and we thought it was so cute. They are definitely in need of updating, but if they did, then the atmosphere wouldn't be old world. My five year old enjoyed sleeping on the love seat in the room and thought it was a perfect bed for her. The river view is nice. Dated, but a great valueThe rooms are definitely dated, but are large and comfortable, and scrupulously clean. And, despite the hotel's location directly on the river, no moldy smell, which has to be something of an accomplishment. Family friendly funWe loved the hotel and the quaitness of the rooms-nothing fancy. As we were checking in a couple came in and decided it was not up to there standard well to us it was great! We plan to stay again!We stayed on the riverside in room 223. It was a pet friendly room and as pet owners we where very pleased. The cleaning staff was great, She understood what pet owners need and required. Parking was a tight fit but other than that all was great. We will definately be back.4 of 6 Yahoo! What a Great PlaceThis was our first trip to Helen, Ga. What a quaint little Alpine village. The Helendorf added perfectly to our Alpine experience. My 12th year at the HelendorfAs my title says this is my 12th year in a row staying at the Helendorf Inn for Oktoberfest. My first few years were in a standard room but the last few years were in the suites. You are definately paying for the location of the hotel and not the amenities or cleanliness.
