Very favorably impressed with Capitol Skyline, especially after reading 100+ reviews on this site. Staff was exceptionally and genuinely friendly and helpful. This was a very good value! The room was clean, but a bit musty as you'd expect. The people, however, were terrific! The receptionist and the security guard and the fellow in the restaurant were charming, open-hearted, helpful and a real pleasure. It was striking. IT was like staying in a small town with big people.
And the hamburger was amazing.
More than I expected for this low --but affordable--rate.

PROS: The location. I mean it practically impossible to find a hotel closest to the Capitol. Although, you are on the wrong side of the highway.

CONS: The outside is poorly maintained. During our stay, the high wind generated a whistlening noise throughout the entire night thanks to single pane windows. Although requested, no discount was offered to remedy that situation.

bad area. internet access didn;t work. breakfest foo was;t good. higher crime area. room was bad, smelly and moldy. i wouldn't stay here. the lobby was great.

The neighborhood wasn't as bad as I imagined after reading previous reviews.

we were there to visit our son in the navy over christmas. the room was clean and serviced every day. the hotel employees were courteous and helpful. everyone was very friendly. we got to enjoy our time with our son. the location was helpful because of the available metro. the view of the capital building was beautiful. we would definately stay again.
