This hotel is no longer a run down Clarion. It is a brand new Holiday Inn Express & Suites. It has a full sports bar. Compared to the Hilton next door this is much better value and the rooms are equally as nice.
The reviews below are obviously for the former Clarion. I had a great experience.

There were panhandlers asking for money on hotel grounds and coming to open doors. A big problem for us was that the sports and premium channels were not working, only 2 regular channels were barely working. we were there for a football weekend and paid for Sat. & Sun. nights, so we could go to the Raider game and then watch the late game in ...
We thought we'd stay close to the airport because we had an early morning flight. OK hotel, would not go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/05
The rooms were clean, but the hotel needs loads of work. It must have been a Holiday Inn at one time, lots of items with that name on in the room. I think Clarion needs to clean this hotel up. Grounds could be nicer and lobby needs work. Employee at front desk on the night we arrived unfriendly. This of course gave us a bad feeling. It had been a long day and long flight, didn't need that at 10:00 at night. Bar tender very nice!!!

Can't wait not to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/05
Stayed here via Hotwire, thinking I was staying in a nice place in Oakland during my stay there. Never having stayed in a Clarion Hotel before, I was under the impression it was a middle - three star hotel. It was more like a one star. If I didn't prepay, I would have gone across the the street to the Motel 6.
