My wife and I enjoyed two nights at Big Sur Lodge at Pfeiffer Beach State Park, though it was bitterly cold in the room at night. We spent a week at the lodge and loved the area. The room was a little old but clean.
We thought the restaurant food was pretty good
and the service was good. We had horrible service at the ice cream counter each time
we tried to get ice cream. The manager did
not respond to our concerns.
We will probably stay at a different place
on our next visit.

The 1950's style "cabins" are poorly furnished. The kitchen units lacked sufficient cooking/dining utensils. The fireplace smoked and caused the smoke detector to go off in the middle of the night. We called the Lodge for assistance, but got no answer.

Both the food and service at the restaurant were substandard.

When we tried to express our concerns to the General Manager we were offered a free lunch and told the he was busy.
