We used to stay here all the time it's only a hour or so away and we always had a good experience. We liked shopping in Old Sac and the train museum. Its to bad they changed the pool area and the huge hot tub they had but it still looks very nice from the photos. I am thinking about another trip up for a weekend with the family... swimming food and a good time...

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Prices were reasonable and our room was clean and near the gate leading to the river walk. Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on the premises served excellent Mexican food. The hotel is in the middle between Old Town and a beautiful Park along the river walk. Can't wait to get back there!

The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, the location was GREAT, and the price was right! In all my travels, I have never been so happy with my choice of a place to stay. Family members who stayed downtown paid twice what we did, and we had more fun! I highly recommend this wonderful motel.

I went to Sacramento with my husband and we decided to stay at the Sandman because it was located near Old Sacramento and it was less expensive than other locations. I recently stayed at the sandman, it is one I shall not soon forget. I was looking for a place on relatively short notice on a budget. A friend recommended the place after staying a few years prior. We stayed 5 days and liked the Sandman because it was convenient to downtown via Richards Blvd., then 7th., or anywhere via Interstate 5.

It was clean, well lighted, had helpful staff, a good continental breakfast selection, and a free newspaper each morning.

I made reservation by phone, which made check in easy. The 2 rooms rented were very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. For hotel renters, is a private door that leads to the Sacramento river, which is only about 50 or 60 feet away. Makes for a great scenic walk. A very good stay. If we're in that part of the state, we will go there again.

I found the place to be clean and the staff to be very accommodating. I arrived early but was given a room (which fitted my room request) immediately. I needed a ride to airport in the morning and the staff was extreamly cooperative in getting me there on time. I only stayed the one night, but I will stay again next time I fly out of Sacramento.

Clean rooms, pool was cool & spa was too hot, though some may like it that way. Continental breakfast was very good & ample. Despite initially getting wrong type of room as per my confirmed reservations on both visits, they were helpful in getting things resolved. Seen few homeless persons within few blocks of motel but didn't seem to be a problem.
