Do Not Waste Your Money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/08
Our arrival time was about 9:00 PM and we went straight to bed because we had to get up early for a seminar. We had made reservations months in advance. We asked for double beds and no smoking rooms and they were suppose to be ~$70 rooms. Our bill ended up being $195 for two rooms. We ended up with a king size bed to share. As we approached the ...
We made it on late on a Friday evening and fell right to sleep....the beds slept well but I work up and had to kill several roaches from off of the wall. I called the front desk and was told the cleaning lady hasd spray on her cart and would spray our room..... I was disgusted with this Howard Johnson!!!!

THE SWIMMING POOL WITH NO WATER IS LIKE SO AWESOME AND RELAXING.. YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR BETTER WATER TO SWIM IN... THE HOLES IN THE WALL WHERE THE ROACHES CRAWL OUT ALL OVER YOUR BED IT JUST SUPER. YOU COULDN'T ASK TO BE GROSSED OUT ANYMORE. ITS LOVELY.

We'll definitly stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/07
Lobby is very nice and our room was large, freshly painted, and clean. Great central location, close to the downtown and the race track. Negatives: Didn't much care for the hotel bar, our tub dripped, and the common areas (walkways, stairways, outsides of rooms) could use some sprucing up. Good breakfasts at a very fair price.

Yuck!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/07
I checked into my room at 4:00 p.m., only to find that, after walking three flights of steps (the elevator was broken), the room had not been cleaned. The stairwell is poorly lit and so narrow, an attacker could trap you with nowhere to escape. The common areas are filthy. I was surprised (shocked, actually) that Howard Johnson's allows this hotel to continue operating under their name.
Not the worst hotel I've ever been in, but close. Coffee pot did not work. Got to see the same pile of french fries on the 2nd floor landing 3 days in a row. Close to the bathhouses and downtown area, but that's all I could say for it. Needs a definate remodel. Not up to Howard Johnson standards.

Not Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/06
This was our first time in Hot Springs and I tried it due to they are pet friendly. Little to no grass for the dogs-had to cross the 4 lane road to find any. Hotel needs to be remodeled. Bed was as hard as a board. We all left with backaches. The pool had no water in it and this was the one thing I had told my 5 year old we could do was go swimming. It was still mid 80's in temperature but no water. Wont stay again!!

If you got Dogs & Motorhome
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/06
If you are looking for a place that is walking distance from the bath houses, is pet friendly and has parking for a motorhome, Howard Johnson's is the answer and has value. The room was clean and the staff was pleasant. For people with dogs there is plenty of grass in the area, exterior entrances, but there are no first floor rooms. Even ...
We were very pleased with Howard Johnsons in Hot Springs, Ar. The spacous room was very clean. The air conditioning got so cold we had to turn it down. The swimming pool was perfectly clean. Also, the location made was great, easy to get in and out of. We will return.
