Get away from it all and still be home for supper.

Loose yourself in natures splendor. Watch deer grazing next to a babbling brook. Smell the smell of wildflowers and pine. All this for free and within walking distance of many local attractions.

Blackwater Creek Bike Trail is awesome

Perfect for all fitness levels. My husband and 7 yr old son and I went together. It's beautiful, safe and really a pleasant ride. The path is nicely paved and no major extremes (hills or declines).

Great Trails to take your family for a walk. Lots of trails to run as well. Fairly flat which is alot to say for Lynchburg - The Hill City.

great family outing

I hadn't been on a bicycle in a while. This bikeway takes you over the James River with a converted railroad bridge, and the views are lovely. I only wish there were more miles of bikeway! It is really breathtaking, and a great place to reconnect with the kids! (And be one!)
