Sadly, I live VERY far from Fredericksburg now, but when I lived in VA, a good friend of mine got me turned on to Hyperion's breves. I've never had their coffee or any of their food, but I can definitely vouch for their breves. You've never tasted anything so rich in your life. Service is not so good if there is more than one person in line so pick a slow day. I do not recommended this shop unless you are in a rush for caffine fix.

Breves are the best drink and hyperion's not known for it's snacks... just it's coffee and great atmosphere! I love going there when I'm back in town (I went to school in other various parts of the state) and running into people I grew up with and catching up with them! It's great :-) It's Fredericksburg, it's UMW!

The coffee was not that great as I have read on the reviews. The danish I had was stale and I paid a small fortune for it.

Hyperion is simply an institution in Fredericksburg. Its a place you go to get great coffee, kind service, mingle with friends and passersby, and enjoy the surroundings. It seemed to be the one place in town where everyone was able to co-exist naturally. Locals, college students, tourists, book clubs, church groups - everybody! I have to visit every time I'm back in town...

I can't understand the raving about this place. The coffee was ok but expensive. The croissant I got tasted like it was a day or two old and that was expensive too!

hyperion has the best lattes in the mid-atlantic area, possibly the east coast or even the country.
