Boring!!!! There are more exciting things to do in Salem besides sit and watch bad acting. They did a poor job of "recreating" the atmosphere.

We have seen it at least 5 times.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/08
My wife and I have been to see "Cry Innocent" with friends at least 5 times over the years and everyone we bring has really enjoyed it. Each time we have been it has been a little different. The story of Bridget Bishop is compelling . It is a lesson to us today of the dangers of crowd hysteria and the importance of a legal system that ...

I thought it was fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/08
I thought that this was a great trip. The actors certainly held my attention. I'm a little surprised by all of the negative writtings on this site. (When I went let me tell you, there was not a single person sleeping.) It was great fun! Though a serious topic it was presented in a fun and family friendly way. I think before you write more ...
I came to visit Salem in the fall and after some research my family and I went to go see Cry Innocent. It was just plain awful. The hangings facinated me throughout the years and I was sincerely disappointed in this show. I won't go back to Salem after this disappointment. My two year old daughter has better acting. I would have asked for my ...
1. You could hardly see anything 2. There is no hanging, you only sit in a court house and listen to some bad acting 3. They make is sound a lot more interesting than it actually is 4. My husband fell asleep (which seems to be common from the other reviews...his actual words "this is worse than Church")
I absolutely hated the show. The other people who wrote "raving" reviews must have worked for the production. Horrendous. I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone with half a brain.

History comes alive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/08
This show brought a turbulent period in American history into a little clearer focus for me. I had not realized how the physical distance from Salem Village to the township made the legal trials more problematic. By making the audience serve as a grand jury, one is forced to weigh the evidence, or lack therof, in a way that is not required from a ...

Why I Love Cry Innocent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/08
My list of why I love Cry Innocent: 1) Period costumes make me swoon. 2) Hearing Real Words that Real People spoke three hundred-odd years ago fascinates me. Why doesn’t this happen more often in theater? 3) Actors well-versed in the language and mindset of the time in order to improvise from said real words are cool to watch. 4) I like ...

I would certainly go again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/08
I can't believe that people would think badly of this show. I came to visit my family this past fall and they took me to see Cry Innocent. It was amazing! I loved the interaction and the ad-libs the actors had to come up with. That whole period of history is so interesting and yet so overlooked - I'm glad that Salem decided to offer something more substantial then just Halloween propaganda. This was an amazing show!
What a wonderful show. I came in with a minimal understanding of the Salem Witch Trials, and I left with so much more. The actors were wonderful in bringing this hysteria to life. These negative reviewers with all due respect don't know what they're talking about. Cry Innocent is by far the coolest least tacky thing to do in Salem.
