I just read the comment posted on 6.9.09 below. I've played Crosswinds for years and I have never had an employee of Crosswinds treat myself or any of my guests with anything but the utmost respect. 3.5 to 4 hours has always been fine with the management at Crosswinds. And by the way, I shoot in the high 80's to mid-90's at ...
All 3 nine holes were fantastic - great views - course was in great shape. Certainly not a course for a beginner or anyone who can't break 100. It was just as good as two priced high public courses courses in the area. A-
JUST GOT BACK TO TAMPA,FLORIDA FROM A TRIP TO PLYMOUTH AND CAPE COD...WHAT A GEM WE FOUND IN CROSSWINDS!! PLAYED SEVERAL COURSES IN THE AREA AND LOVED CROSSWINDS...CANT BELEIVE ITS NOT RATED AS ONE OF THE TOP 20 IN THE STATE...BEST CONDITIONS I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS ANYWHERE! Unless your score is 80s or under then forget about this course. We finished our 18 holes a little over 4 hours and the employees there were giving us crap for playing so long. They asked us not to come back in the morning because its too busy. I never knew that golf was considered a race to see who finishes the course with the fastest time.
Played "off season." Cheap green fee. Carts not available on this day but it's a very difficult walk. Very hilly and long distances between some greens and tees.
It's a well designed course.Greens rolled at a nice speed. Some good sized greens.Fairways are wide enough that you can use your driver on most holes.
I'm pleased that we "discovered" this place. We had an enjoyable day.
