Can someone please tell me why Joe Thurston thinks its ok for his students to be obsessed with his studio? It seems that Joe would rather have his students be devoted to his dojo then take the time to care about more important things, like family.

My child wanted to go to Thurston because one of their friends went. So I thought sure why not. However what I discovered was irritating. Some of the teachers don't seem to know what they are doing and some seem to be busier flirting with each other then focusing on my child and helping them with their skills in Martial Arts.
Never again will I allow my child to enter into that studio.

what i like is that the keeps his place clean not like other dojos When i took class there for a week he sould me the true meaning of karate if you and your cildren want to have a nice katete stuido go to this place it is great!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a student at Thurston Academy and it does improve character, which is hard to say about many of the commercial martial arts dojos claiming the same.
