This is a good place to spend some time. Atleast there is something interesting around Columbus, GA that you can visit.

As a group of seniors who knew beforehand we wouldn't be able to hike down into the canyon, we had hoped to see plenty from the overlook up top. Not so. Trees have been allowed to grow up and obscure the view.

We had a great time. It really is similar to the Grand Canyon as far as strata and colors.
Of course in size and scope it can't compare to the Grand Canyon but I would highly recommend this park. While you're in the area go to Westville about 7 miles away.
