New staff... There is a new Director of Golf at Royal and he is great....customer service has improved signifigantly. Greens are great and a true thinking golf course. It can play tough if played the wrong way, play this course the way it was meant to be played and you will have a blast. Hope this helps

Played on March 18. Course was in average condition and staff was marginal. Layout/design was awful. Very narrow fairways, large mounds and bunkers in the middle of fairways. Golfing here might be a challenge but I prefer golfing to be fun and enjoyable. The price is attractive and the experience is not worth it.

The back tees make this a challenge, so you have to play to your ability.
Wanna score?, aim for the 150Y markers and you will enjoy a good round.

This is St Augustine, not NYC, so leave your attitude up there and the staff will treat you like a King.
Price is right also.

From the general area and after reading several of the reviews was leery about playing. Not for the faint of heart, but a very challenging course, in great winter condition with outstanding value.

Don't know what the naysayers were expecting, but I was most presently suprised and will return once I get my game up to par.

I've played Royal dozens of times and I couldn't agree LESS with what the other YAHOO users are saying. You can't hit a fairway 75 YARDS WIDE, give me a break. A 10 hcp looses 12-15 balls. Bull! Very tight and UGLY golf course. Played here 3 years ago and it was in much better condition and the service was outstanding. Now it is HORRIBLE!!! Poor service is all over the place: pro shop, snack area, golf course. What a poor run facility. It is cheap but do not be "fooled" pay very little more and have a better experience 5-miles up the road. My family had a very poor experience here.
