Valenica is playable for all skill levels. It is very affordable and is a wonderful layout. The only drawback is that the greens are often shaggy and sometimes aerated, which detracts from the experience. However, having played many courses around here that cost 2X or 3X what Valencia charges, you just aren't going to find a better golf course for the money.
There is nothing fancy about Valencia, but it provides a very relaxed, fun round. The prices are moderate, kids are welcome, the staff is pleasant and the course is very playable. Slope of 119 from the mid-tees, but testing from the back. Greens are true.
Played in July now for several years in a row (2004-2006)...no waiting, fair price, good condition, and as challenging as you would like it. Almost all holes are open....not target golf like some of the newer courses. Good facilities, including driving range...friendly personnel and accomodating for tee times.....hope it stays this good and would recommend to any player I know.

Valencia Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/06
Surly, inattentive staff put a damper on the experience. Green fees are higher than most for this time of year. Range balls not free, no one at bag drop, starter not at tee but showed up to rudely and reluctantly allow us to tee off 3 minutes early although no one else was around.

Long ball hitter's course
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/04
Having played all of the available public courses in Naples,I find that Valencia has the most to offer, personally I love the space provided between holes, and the fact that there's no homes immediately on the edge of the fairways adds to the beauty of the course, there are no distractions only lash greens and trees....
