A great place for a quiet drink, or to hear a piano player/chanteuse, and just soak in the feeling of Upper East Side privilege, admiring the playful mural by Ludwig Bemelman, creator of the Madeleine childrens books, that covers the walls. And the bartenders know what they are doing. A great hotel bar.
Maybe that's why those nesting hawks moved to The Carlyle.
