shin's is decent to good compared to other sushi bar's in SLO

Shin's Rules.

Really bad service on a Sunday evening, though the place wasn't full: slow, disorganized, inattentive. Don't try their udon, mussels, or Flower roll. Sushi and hand rolls are average in flavor and quality. A one-time deal, unless you are really hungry, in which case sit at the counter for faster service. I prefer Tsurugi or Yanagi (also in SLO).

We had a delicious meal when we visited. Shin's special was my favorite! Great prices and atmosphere. Wouldn't suggest the spicy tuna roll if you don't like pureed fish, though. All round tasty, wish there was one here.
