Great experience at the Peshtigo Fire MuseumThe museum features only a few items from the fire, since the fire destroyed almost everything. Surviving items include a tabernacle which has a great story, a glass bowl, a chunk of 10" x 10" wood, and a small burned Bible which is still legible. They say they close at 4:30, but .....My wife and I arrived at the Fire Museum at 4:10pm on October 2, 2006, after a fine vacation in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. All the signs in town and on the museum website say it closes at 4:30pm. Upon walking to the front of the building we saw two men leaving.
