We didn't know what to expect from an animal park in Hayward. Seems like to small of a community to support one. However we were very pleased with the facility and the amount of animals they had. The childrens petting zoo was great and they allow several animals to roam free which is fun for the kids. I would definiately recommend this if you are in the area.

I have been going to the Wilderness Walk since I was a young child. Every year we would go there on a field trip for school.
Now that I have a daughter, we are making it a tradition to go there every year. It is a great experience and has a very friendly atmosphere. The baby animal nursery is so fun...especially getting to feed them. I highly recommend this park:)

I have been visiting Wilderness Walk yearly since a field trip in elementary school, which was many years ago, and now that I am married and have kids we visit every year. Last year on my daughters birthday we went and I have the most beautiful pictures of her hugging and sitting by the tame whitetail deer. It is a beautiful place to go for a walk and see all the many different kinds of animals. I highly recommend it!
