  • Williamsburg Winery Is A Fraud
    By Bob, 06/08/09
This is written by someone who has lived in Williamsburg for 20 years, has worked part time at the winery and has friends who still do.

My major complaint about the WW is the notion that this is a Virginia winery making wines from its own grapes. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, the winery occupies 320 acres, but the vines you see ...

Very nice tour...well priced at only 8 dollars....It is a very nice thing to do on a rainy day... The wine is excellent..and you get to sample 7 different wines at the end of the tour....plus the wine glasses you get to take with you are pretty nice too...I would definately reccommend going here

  • Winery Good, Tavern Overpriced
    By Aibrean, 07/17/08
We started off with the winery tour even though we were hungry. I figured $8 plus a glass to take home was a good deal. I did a winery tour at the Biltmore that didn't show as much as was shown here. We saw the barrels, where they bottle the wine, the filtration system, the bottle collection, and then 7 wines to taste (my favorite was the ...

  • Yummy!
    By Heidi, 06/26/08
The wine is excellent at the Williamsburg Winery! They even had some decently priced wines as well. Our personal favorite was the Governor's White. The tour/tasting was very interesting and worth the price. The restaurant food was decent but the service was a tad slow. Overall, great winery!

  • Would go again
    By Peter, 01/08/08
We had a good time touring the winery. The guide was knowledgable and the tasting was good for me. I think that VA reds are not quite there, yet. However, some of the white wines were enjoyable.

  • Great Chardonnay
    By Karen, 10/29/07
While in Williamsburg on a girls getaway the innkeeper at the Williamsburg Manor suggested that we go to the Williamsburg Winery for lunch in the Tavern. We spent the entire afternoon having lunch, touring the winery and returning to the Tavern to enjoy a bottle fo great chardonnay and a cheese plate.

  • Great Tour
    By Nikki, 08/20/07
For two people it's $18 to tour plus you get to taste 7 differnt wines and keep your WW glass. All the wines were very good in their own right. My boyfriend and I kinda did things backwards and drank a bottle of wine with lunch. But the tour was great, the guide really new her information and she was very well spoken. YOU MUST have lunch or dinner at their Tavern. Great choices and AMAZING SALAD!!!

  • Lovely Winery, Poor Service
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/07
We called in advance to ask about making reservations etc. for a party of 13, and were told that it was not necessary for us to make reservations to come on in by eleven o'clock that no reservations were needed. Upon arrival the man led us into a room to view the video. Some of the people were walking around the room looking at the wines, the ...

  • Expect Disappointment
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/07
The winery tour was fun if you can look past the moldy walls and ceilings. The wine tasting itself was hurried and a bit skimpy.

If you plan to dine at the Gabriel Archer Tavern located on the winery property, expect disappointment. The service was horrid and it took 1.25 hours to receive two sandwiches and the tavern was only half full. We ...

  • I'll definately go back!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/07
On a whim we decided to try the Williamsburg Winery during our trip in early June 2006. I'm planning another trip to Williamsburg in the next couple of weeks and I'll definitely make it a point to return to the winery.

When we went, we arrived in time to have a tasty lunch under the shaded porch. The sandwiches were great and the ...
