  • Just "OK"
    By Denise, 08/14/09
I was a little disappointed. Based on their website, I was expecting more animals in the petting zoo part. There was no otter, no mandril, and no peacock, and there were other empty cages as well. The adoptable pets seemed lethargic, and the part where the adoptable dogs were smelled really bad. I could not wait to get outside. I understand that ...

I made an appointment for him scheduled for two days after this occured. The next day my boyfreind and I noticed that he was not neutered when his records showed he was. Then on top of ...

  • Fun animals!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/07
The goats, little deer, and other birds were very friendly and fun to pet! My child loved them! The rescued tiger was beautiful and the river otters were very fun to watch! Some may be farm aminals, but they were very people-friendly! The staff was constantly walking the dogs from inside the shelter and did the best that they could with such a ...

  • Nice Weekend Outing
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
My kids love it. They have a petting zoo where you can pet goats, deer, chickens and a LLama. The animals can get a bit over zealous trying to get the feed that you buy from candy machines, but the kids just think it's great. Use caution if you have little ones though. Then they have other injured animals that they take care of and you can ...

  • Lots of cute lovable pups!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/06
What I like best about the SPCA is that it provides a place for the animals to stay until they find a home. I understand that eventually, you run out of room for all of them and the un-adopted ones get put to sleep. I disagree with this strongly. Not all can live to find a good home but it should be set up as that none, no matter if adopted or ...

  • Zoo / Petting Farm / Pound
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/06
I was here 10 yrs ago and for a day out with my son, I took him to the SPCA. He loved going because he was able to ' pick ' out his favorite puppy and then see the animals in the back. He was always so joyful to feed the goats, and have them feed on him... :)

Now that he is older, he still likes to go but he takes his sister who now ...

  • If you don't like it...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/06
I understand how everyone feels, but if you don't like the situation at the SPCA, then donate money to help them, or organize fundraisers to make money to donate to them. You can complain all you like, but until everyone starts doing something besides complaining, nothing will change. To the person who lost their dog there, I am sorry, this was not meant for you.

  • Horrible
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/05
Horrible, terrible smelling. The poor, pathetic animals seem just as bad off there if not worse. It seemed every animal I looked at was sick, eyes bulging out, tired and hungry. When I asked the people at the desk about the situations I saw, they shrugged it off saying there isn't any money to give the needed medicine or attention to them. I will never take my children there again.

It looked like the animals there haven't eaten in days.....I felt like I was taking my child to another country, were animanls come last.....Don't go. The animals run after you and trys to bite...please beware!!!
