Potomac Overlook: A hidden gem.
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 02/12/06
Several quiet trails, the occasional friendly dog and person, a slight background hum of traffic and a breathing woodland that is very relaxing. Pick a fallen tree, take a seat and read or just watch the trees a bit. Well worth the time.

Nice place to explore, great for kids
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/07/05
This is a large park for the DC area. The official size is 100 acres but it is actually much larger as it borders undeveloped public lands from the GW parkway. There is a nice nature center with snakes, a see-into glass active bee hive, some birds of prey, and some history of the potomac basin. The park offers the opportunity to walk through a hardwood forest on trails that are not too crowded.
