  • SLOW!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/07
Greens were in bad shape. Expensive on Friday. Had a fivesome in front the entire day which caused a five hour round! Decent staff. Challenging course!

  • It's a value play.
    By Chris2QQQ, 12/18/06
Recently, I played at several golf courses near Plano, Texas: Los Rios, Chase Oaks, Pecan Hollow, and Ridgeview Ranch. The over conditions at Ridgeview Ranch is the best.

Chase Oaks is nice, but there are too many leaves on the ground. So it's hard to find golf balls.

Los Rios is good. It is more expensive for a round of golf than other ...

  • Disappointed
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/06
I played at Ridgeview recently and was very disappointed. The clubhouse seemed chaotic and poorly managed, as did the feeling on the course. It was extremely crowded and required a wait to take every shot. At one point, standing in a tee box, I counted 6 golf carts within my field of view between me and the pin. I realize that it's a muni course, but better staggering of golfers will make play better and more enjoyable for everyone.

  • Fun course
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/06
I'm from Houston and belong to a good private course there. Ridgeview provides a lot of value. The course is fun, although not particularly tough. Being from flat Houston, I enjoyed the rolling hills. Course condition (Apr '06) was very good. Greens run true although not particularly fast. Fairways were good and "turfy" ...

  • Will never go back!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/05
Greens were better, fees increased, but the staff is the worst. Rude, rude, rude is all that can be said. They were inconvenienced by our presence. This use to be a great place, but has gone down hill now.

    We will never go back!

  • Gotta see the new greens
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/05
I was there for the first time on the last Thursday of September on a company outing. I had heard good things about this place and it certainly didn't disappoint. And the greens were great! One of the best in the Dallas area.

I would certainly recommend everyone at any skill level.

  • Poor Service
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/05
My experience last Saturday was not fun... and certainly wasn't worth the time/money.

Suggestion for anyone thinking about playing at Ridgeview Ranch....get a tee time and understand that the service is rude and obnoxious at best.

  • New update from Ridgeview
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
I have noticed a few postings from May of this year talking about the condition of the greens. Mid May the course was closed for 6 weeks, the greens were completely redone with a new veriety of Champions called "mini verde" and reopened in June. I am proud to say we are now in excellent condition. Come give us a try

  • In their defense...
    By Brian, 07/08/05
They have a great player's club that allows you all the range balls you want, and cart fees only after noon, for about 30 bucks a month.

The greens were miserable to start the year, but they actually just re-opened after shutting down for a month. Haven't been back yet, but they completely re-sodded with new bermuda and it's supposed to be ingreat shape now.

    Let me know.

  • This used to be one of the Best Courses in North Dallas
    By Brian, 07/06/05
This used to be one of my favorite courses to play. The last time I went out there I found that the green fees had gone up and then getting out on the course found that the greens were so bad that me and my playing partner adopted a 2 putt rule. The pro's in the shop never mentioned anything about the greens. I was pretty disappointed to ...
