I read a review which said it was "the best patio dining in Dallas". That was definitely overstating it. The patio was okay, but there are certainly places in Addison that are better. The food was just unspecial- not bad, but not particularly good. The house was very poorly renovated. It had NO curb appeal and no old charm at all. Altogether, it was ok to try (especially since I live very close by), but I was disappointed.
I read all the reviews on the Sweet Tomato Garden Cafe, so I decided to make reservations for Mother's Day. There was a set menu that sounded absolutely wonderful. The shrimp cocktail was a joke, the Eggs Benedict was so salty it was almost uneatable, the Creme Brulee was undercooked and was like soup! Maybe we just picked the wrong day to ...
A co-worker recommended this place to me. I was very hyped to go, BUT I looked at the health inspection score on the City of Mckinney website, which was done on 12/15/04, and unfortunately this "cafe" had a failing score of 41. I wont go until their health rating is vastly improved.
I love the Sweet Tomato!!! The best tomato soup I've ever had!!! I love the setting it is in. Inside is very calming and outside is even better. A big patio area with live music covered by huge trees. Truly a great little place to eat!
The Sweet Tomato is a surprise. You wouldn't expect to find it where it is located. The setting is unique, but very appealing. On weekends, it is a great place to meet friends, enjoy some great food, have some drinks and listen to some great live music like from bands like Baked Goods.
