the zoo is a perfect place for a family outing. although some exhibits are still closed to reconstruction i believe that once the reconstruction is complete it will be a beautiful place to visit again. the prairie dog exhibit is the most interactive i have seen from any zoo that i have visited. we also enjoyed looking at the mother monkey with her ...

Place that makes you smile.

I have done alot of work at the zoo giving my time to help the keepers and zoo staff and they are all GREAT!!!! You ask any questions and they will be MORE than happy to answer any question. Looking at the animals and the perfect look of the plants as the colors begin to blend in with each other; just puts a smile on your face. It is a place that makes you happy and in the middle of a busy city; the noises of the city just seem to go away!!!
It was ok, they had exotic animals but the atmosphere was real boring. It was like Im here, were looking, and ok were done. I know theyre remodeling so maybe after its done it will be more interesting.

I grew in a near town in El Paso and we would go to the zoo every time and still still go and with my kids. The zoo is a great place to see some animals and enjoy a relaxing day. I believe people should not expect much of it because as we know we do live in the dessert and it is not a big city as other that have all different kind of animals. So what i am trying to say is we have what we have so just enjoy.
El Paso Zoo is currently going through renovation. Very dissapointing! We saw about 10 animals total. Most exhibits were closed while others were empty. We have gone twice this summer and it's been the same both times. I think it should be free until it is finished. I hope it's better when its done.
You can definitely tell this zoo isn't located in the midwest! Very small zoo, I have flown out and taken my grandkids 4 or 5 times in the year since they have lived there. Nothing changes, except they seem to always have fewer animals each visit. It's a nice place to visit, especially on a windy El Paso day...at least you don't get blown to bits while at the zoo.

El Paso Zoo

It has a nice seal display however, most of the animals have been off exhibit the past several times I've gone. There aren't even any lions like there were in the past. There was supposed to be an African theme up and running by summer 2006 but it has since been postponed until 2009. This zoo is small and with the lack of animals takes ...

Could be better!

My kids had a good time at the El paso zoo... but in comparison to the other zoos we have visited it was pretty disapointing. It is very small, which wouldn't be bad if they would upgrade some of their exhibits and signs ect. We did enjoy ourselves and would tell people to go see it... just don't get your hopes up, just enjoy it for what it is.
