I have heard of this place for quite some time and I was looking forward to eating here. This is not just a let down after a lot of hype, the BBQ was just flat out bad. In fact, it had a parculiar taste to it that was not a byproduct of wood smoke. A taste more like the fluid used to start the grill. In any case, if you find yourself in El Paso and ...

Used to be great !
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/07/07
I first went to the Stateline in 1985 and have eaten there more than 100 times.
The food and the service used to be great, but, beginning around 2002-2003, my wife and I noticed a significant decline in both the service and the quality of the food which was occasionally served only luke warm. We also noticed that chairs and booth seats were ...

Used to be excellent-NOW-worst service in El Paso
By julie s, 05/28/06
Used to have great service. Now, the service is awful-cold ribs, uncooked hamburgers, ice tea instead of diet coke. Kevin, the assitant manager, was not helpful. Memorial Weekend-Sunday evening-was totally understaffed and all he had were excuses. We are never going back.

not the best
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/22/06
We tried here on an easter visit to El Paso. Had eaten there about 10 years ago. Had the five meat plate and was not pleased. Food was warm at best. Pork ribs the best, beef was chewy and tough. Liked the sausage - firm and not fatty, potatoe salad good too. Hammonds in Glen Rose with peanut butter pie much better. sorry no stateline next time in EP. Edge of Texas for me.

It used to be great
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/09/06
I have been going to the State Line for over ten years, and raving about it. I have taken many visitors to the restuarant, and they have also loved it. In the past few years (maybe two), however, the quality has declined severely, while the prices have continuously increased. The baby-back ribs, which were once the best I had ever had, are now dry and generally tasteless. What a pity.

Love the Ribs
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 02/25/05
Man is this the place to pig out or what! This is the place where I suggest that you do not bring your best clothing because I am sure when I tell you that you will have BBQ all over your cloths. They even have towels because of the mess you make from eating the big platters like the Big Daddy.
