First let me say we are not beach people, but the national park service has done a great job of preservation of this beautiful area. The Junior Ranger Program is free and kids LOVE it ! Take the time to complete the JRP as a family, it is great family time and educational.

Admission price was $10 per car, there is a discount for seniors. They have a very nice gift shop and a small museum/educaton center there as well. Very nice viewing deck from the gift shop area. I love the clear water. The beach was very clean. There is a store there if you forget anything. This is a great place to take the family for a day of fun or for lovers to walk along the beach

Great place to do whatever watersport you enjoy. Beaching is good as long as you go on a day without a lot of seaweed or tar (check local newspaper weather report).

Padre Island National Seashore is absolutely beautiful, very relaxing atomosphere, it's like a different world
