Its not called Padre Staples anymore. Its called La Palmera. Living in San Antonio, this mall reminds me of a cross between North Star Mall and Crossroads Mall, being it is a good size but few stores to choice from and most are mid scale shops. Two level carousel is reall nice and only $1.75 for a child and parent can ride for free with child.

The Best Place Ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/08
This place was nearly perfect all it needs is place on TV and its perfect. I has events all the time and a giant ride in the middle of the who thing.
I agree with everyone else... We have like no stores with shopping at in our mall. For us younger women our main clothing stores are limited to Forever 21 and Wet Seal. Its annoying how u can't keep from buyin atleast 1 thing that none of ur other friends have. I mean seriously! I would love it if they gave us like a Fredricks of Hollywood, ...

Can we grow??
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/07
If the city would actually like to grow up, it should start with the mall. Corpus wants to be a first tier metropolitian area so badly, yet, refuses to let go of the past and actually advance. The mall is still seasons behind and doesn't have stores that people actually like going to... no wonder everything keeps closing up...

I wish it was more like San Antonio/ Houston malls!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/07
ITS OK BECAUSE I LIVE NEARBY. IT HAS SOME NICE STORES LIKE AMERICAN EAGLE, EXRESS,& FOREVER XXI BUT I JUST WISH IT HAD MORE OF THE FEELING OF SAN ANTONIO/ HOUSTON MALLS. AT LEAST OVER THERE WE GET EVEN MORE SELECTION. AN AWSOME FOOD COURT. NOT LIKE THIS ONE WITH ONLY 3 TO CHOOSE FROM. WHATS WITH EMPTY SPACES TOO? WHAT HAPPENED TO BENJAMINS? THE ...

hopefully construction will help!

I hate this mall! It's dark and stinky and while they have all the "cool kids" stores (emphasis on kids) they lack style. It would be nice to see stores like "Urban Outfitters" or "anthropologie", more specialized stores like "sur la table". I guess it's the best hang out for teenagers, which is sad. But there's not much else to do than go to the beach. We need some diversity!

Blargh.

I've lived in Portland all my life. And every Friday we would go to Padre Staples mall. Its wonderful. I like the fact that they aren't afraid to carry a Hot Topic or a Spencers. Lately they've been doing work to the building which makes it really weird to look at, but at least it's changing up a bit!

It's OKAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/07
I lived in Dallas my entire life. Willowbend, Collin Creek, and Stonebriar, are all a bit more high class than that of Corpus Christi. The stores are of much higher quality and there is more of a selection. I will be moving to Corpus to attend A&M and have been transfered to the Forever 21 that has just opened in that Mall. That store is WAY nicer than the one in Willowbend but it JUST opened so I expected it to be.
