I live in Knoxville and I've been to the Zoo many, many times. I've also traveled to many zoos across America. Happily, the Knoxville Zoo is getting nicer.
The Knoxville Zoo's exhibits are starting to look more like a big city zoo: open exhibits where it is easy to see the animals. The new Red Panda exhibit is great. The new kids ...

Pretty Bad
By David G, 05/17/08
Very small, the animals are few and far between. We had a staff member be rude and then go and tell her friends about it, not realizing a person with our group was following behind and overheard talking about us. Very unprofessional, will not likely make a second trip ever. The bird show was the worse I have ever seen. The prices was the only good thing, did buy a couple of things for my son. Overall, it was awful.

NOT WORTH GOING!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/11/07
We went the end of May 2007 expecting it to be as nice as other zoo's. Wrong! They way they have it set up, you get to see about half the animals that are there...at least I think they are there?! A few we DIDN'T see that were listed, were the gorilla's, chimpanzee's, lion's, & cheetah's & others. Also there were ...

I have been going since I was a little girl with my Grandparents. Now that I am a mother we go every year in memory of my grandfather. My son loves the kids area and all the animals. In a few weeks we are going to visit again on our way home.I love this zoo. We have a Zoo membership for the family, and for us it was worth it we love going to zoos. The membership has payed for itself many times over.

Mixed feelings...
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/10/07
It is a beautiful place where you can relax while watching the animals, but it is not the big deal. The gardens are pretty but the animal exhibit is not very big. I felt kind of disappointed in my overall experience, some places do not look up to date and they seem not to have proper maintenance. It is a place to visit to get your own idea about ...

Great Kids Cove, otherwise disturbing
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/20/06
Liked: the walkways, bridges, landscaping, kid's cove.
The rest of it seemed mediocre or sometimes disturbing - many of the animals had nowhere near enough room to run around, and the snow leopards that are dynamo athletes were in 97 degree weather with mere shade and a small cage (small for their athletic needs). The elephants room to ...

What I think!
By Brad, 03/08/06
The Knoxvill Zoo is a nice place to visit. But If you have been there in the passed you have seen it all! Now if you are comeing from a big city like Nashville, Atlanta or even Memphis. You will not be impressed. Yes the Knoxville zoo has made changes in the past few years. But All they did was move things around! I say save your money and go to Dollywood!

pretty cats and more
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/22/05
Like the snakes and cats. The zoo is only second to the one in Houston we been too. Not enough spots to sit and relax but that is at most places.Kids rode the elephant and had a ball there.
