all we could do was say wow we are from illinois so the smokey mountains all the creeks and water paths were so neat we even drove to cherokee nc and went to mingo falls to see the water fall aslo on the way back to gatlinburg we stopped on the road and took pictures of bears cant wait to go again gatlinburg was crowded we stay in pigeon forge but it was busy with the spring rod run

This is a beautiful place to vcacation. It is peacefully exciting, if that makes any sense. The creeks and water ways that wind through the park are splendid. I visited the park often as a child and am planning a trip back with my daughter.

I have traveled all over the U.S., but East Tennessee is the only place I have ever wanted to move to. The area is full of nature and so much natural beauty. I have lived in the Great Smoky mountains for 28 Years i recently moved to Colorado about 2 years ago. I miss those Mountains so much. The best time to go is in the Fall when the leaves are changing. I miss the Drive through the mountains from cherokee to Tenn.

well, both times ive been through this particular mt pass ive been the passenger, and its been tough. the last time i went through it, it was winter time and the roads were very slick with ice and sleeting real bad. if you want to drive through, i suggest to go through it during the summertime,so as to not scare your passengers. its difficult now, ...

we came through there when we moved to nc and my kids kept askin when was it ginna be over. but the veiw is like nothing i'd ever seen very beautiful!

We love the Smokies. My family and I vacationed there every year. When I grew up I took my family there several times a year, until we moved to Florida. The beach is fun, but we love our Smoky Mountains!

We truly enjoyed visiting Great Smokey Nat'l Park and hiking various trails (do pick up a day hike book at the visitor ctr for $1). The park is such awe inspiringly beautiful. The tourist strip of Gatlinburg, however is a dive. It reminded us of a cheap carnival with funnel cake and airbrushed junk everywhere. It just kills the beauty of the location. Do stay in a hotel there, but head straight to the park as soon as you can.
