The trip up was so pretty! Good time to take pictures. But don't drop the camera... most likely you wont see it again. haha. The workers were nice and the picture at the top was so fun!! Keep a memory forever with the gift shop. one dislike was that the gift shop didnt have much stuff with the sky lift involved just suffed animals and jewelry. Maybe a bit expensive... but worth it if you dont have time to go to Ober Gatlinburg.
I don't see why so many people don't like it. We really enjoy it! We take our kids (ages 13 and 11) to Gatlinburg every year and this is one of the first things they want to do when we get to the downtown area. We've always gone during the day but this year, I think we'll try it later in the evening when it's starting to get dark. I'll bet the view will be really neat looking with everything lit up.
Me and my fiance had a great time on this sky lift. The view is gorgeous at the top and we enjoyed the peaceful ride. The picture at the top was a bonus.
The sky lift is about $12 per person. If you are travelling with a big group, you get your money's worth by taking the tram to Ober Gatlinburg instead.

Do Ober Gatlinburg instead!

This was expensive. about $12 for an adult. Ober Gatlinburg is Cheaper, for about $10 you can ride the tram car for 2 days as much as you desire, and for $3 more dollars you can take their sky lift. It is even longer. Go only half-way up and ride the Alpine Slide down!!! AWESOME! The view from the Gatlinburg sky likft is not that great, and ...
I really enjoyed the ride up to the top of the mountain...but once we got there, there wasn't much to do. One gift shop and plenty of views...very relaxing...just expensive.
It is so awesome especially at night! the view is great!

Good View but Cheesy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/08
While this lift took you to a reasonably good view, it simply does not compare to those of the Rocky Mountains in places like Keystone and Copper Mountain. The chairlift is very old and not very comfortable, and some of the scenic value is ruined by the cheesy souvineer shop.
We had so much fun . Never stoped, we go n4 or 5 times a year. We are going back next mouth. This time we are going to the sky lift. Pidgin forge is a lot of fun also.
