  • Worst Ride In The Smoky Mountains
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/09
My wife and I recently rode here and had a terrible experience. Our guide was very nice, but some of the other staff was very rude. One of the staff (a man, late 50s, round body with a white mustache) made a rude comment to my wife about how she couldn't ride a horse properly. It was his fault because he set the length of the stirrup on one ...

  • Dont waste your time or money

According to our experience this place is a horse riding factory that only cares about taking your money and getting as many rides out as it can in a day. A "walk up and ride" stable it will send out 1 hour rides as fast as people show up. The horses are tame and sweet but older and go out on hourly rides continuously during an 8+ hour ...

  • not too bad
    By Annette, 05/26/09
We went on a 2 hour trail in May, it was a really muddy trail so we felt bad for the horses, but the trails were fun and pretty, lots of creaks to go over. Our trail leader however wasen't that great. She smoked a lot and we had to breath it, also she kept after my friend to kick her horse to make him go faster, that made the trip less enjoyable. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go again.

  • We're going to try it again
    By Tee, 02/09/09
We went last summer and my oldest son (age 11 at the time) rode Nelly. She isn't a very good horse for someone who has never rode. This was his first time to ever ride a horse and she wasn't very cooperative but it was so funny and we all still enjoyed it. My youngest (he was 9 years old at the time) was lucky and ended up with a really ...

  • Nelly
    By AmberT, 06/30/08
I went to the Smoky Mountain Stables for a 1 hour ride ($20/person). The trail was rough and not much to see as far as scenery. I rode Nelly, worst mistake ever. All my horse, and most of the other horses, wanted to do was eat grass and stop. It was terrible! The trails were so bad that I thought my horse was going to fall down several times.

  • A lot of Fun
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/07
We recently went on our honeymoon in Gatlinburg. We had a great time the the Smoky Mountain Stables. The stables were easy to find and had similar rates to other stables.
They kept things moving very quickly so we didn't have to wait long. The trail was fun! We saw a deer, walked through small streams and up and down hills. As an inexperienced ...

  • Definitely worth doing!
    By Janelle, 04/30/07
This place was so easy to find and everyone was friendly. This was one of our highlights from our trip. We think everyone should do it. We even saw 3 turkeys while riding and they were only 12 feet from us!

  • Loved it!!! A+
    By georgeh, 03/18/07
This riding stable company is one of the most beautiful experiences in the Smoky mountain national park we had. We saw deer less than 10 feet away and wild turkeys less than 3 feet away nesting in the mountainside. We went through streams and up foot hills. The views were incredible and the trail guide was wonderful with my youngest daughter of 6 ...
