  • LOVED IT!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/09
I loved that its fed by a natural spring HENCE the "Hot Springs" town. With the natural rock bottom you can never swim in a cleaner pool. I went when I was 16 and have now been telling my SIL and MIL about it so they can stop on their trip to the Black Hills.

  • GROSS!, maybe nice 50 years ago
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/09
FIRST, the locker rooms were nasty. All 4 toilets in the women's locker room were out of order because they ran out of toilet paper and guests were forced to use paper towels, thus clogging ALL of them. THEN, we paid $8 to rent 4 towels that were the size of a kitchen towel. NEXT the slides are lame and my 9 year old boy looked at them and ...

  • Poor value
    By Judith, 06/11/09
We visited Evans Plunge on a cold, rainy day, thinking that since the weather was bad, it would be a great place to spend the day. While the water is pleasant, and I think the potential is there for it to be a really nice place, it had some huge failings.

First, the locker room wasn't quite clean. It wasn't that it was utterly filthy, but ...

  • no chlorine, huge pool
    By AereeG, 06/25/08
The water made my skin and hair feel clean, soft and fresh. I loved the smell of the place, no brain damaging chlorine required since the water is completely refreshed every hour or so. The people i spoke with were friendly. It seems like a wholesome town, and no one stole my purse or camera. The kids really appreciated the free life vests! I wish i could have stayed longer & tried the huge slide. the place is older, but it's just fine.

  • Wouldn't go again
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/08
In my opinion the water was cold, the price was high and the facilities were very outdated. We didn't stay long since the kids were shivering and there were only 2 water slides there! I would definitely not recommend that you go out of your way for a visit...

  • Not worth your time!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/05/08
The water was cold, the slides lame, and the staff was rude.

Don't expect to sit outside unless you are there early, the outdoor pool is tiny and crowded.

If you are staying at a hotel with a pool, it is probably a better, and cheaper, choice.

  • Evans Plunge trip
    By shareneh, 08/20/07
Evans Plunge is a very nice place for families to spend the day. The water is warm and the life guards are friendly. We enjoyed the sauna and the slides. But for the price I think the sauna and health club could have been included in the fee.

  • Outdated Facility
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/07
The Plunge looks like it is back in the 50's, with old yucky showers and a concrete walled pool. They charge about $10 per person, per day, which is rather expensive for the locals. They must depend on year-round tourism. With that said, it still is a must see and experience to soak and swim in a mineral spring fed indoor and outdoor pool. Hot Springs itself is the Gem you should go to visit.....the town is a treasure!!!
