  • rip off
    By mdawg, 01/24/07
Crazy Horse was the most expensive tourist attraction ever. It was 25 bucks for a car load!!!!! Its better to just see it from the highway. its pretty much the same view. It may be cooler looking in 200 years. Right now they arn't even 10 percent finished. Mount Rushmore is definatly worth the 8 dollar parking fee.

  • Great Place to Visit
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/06
It has a great story behind it and is very interesting. The family behind the scenes are the best. The museum is filled with all kinds of native artifacts and the employees are very helpful.

  • 33 years later...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/06
We visited this about 30 years ago. Doesn't seem like much has changed since then, and I question whether there is any financial accountability for where the money is going. My guess is, they're raising funds from people who want to help. But in the end, I think they're just keeping themselves employed.

  • Glad it was free
    By charlesd, 09/25/06
I drove a charter bus into Crazy Horse, glad it was free. Not impressed at all. Stay on the Highway and use Binoculars.

  • I would like to see it again.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/06
Back in the 60s, My Mother, and I were traveling with relatives from Illinois, and the same day we visited Mount Rushmore, we c=visited the crazy Horse Monument. the sculpure's home was open for tours, and in the home, I saw a grandfather clock that was made where I was working at the time(Herschede-Hall Clock Company) I would really love to see the monument today. • Tourist Trap
    By marlon, 07/11/06
We visited on our Black Hills and Ft Robinson trip. Note that the Crazy Horse monument tour was a TRAP, we paid $25 per car entry fee and then on arrival at the visitor center were greeted with a $4 per person bus fee if you really wanted to get up close to see the monument. I felt violated. It seemed to me that $25 was sufficient to be able to see ...

  • I wish I had more time!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/06
When I went to the Crazy Horse Memorial, it was by far the best stop I made on the journey from Spokane Washington to Chicago. I must admit that you should see Mount Rushmore FIRST. I think that way you'll be saving the best for last. Perhaps it is because we've all seen Rushmore in the history books... Crazy Horse is "in the ...

  • For many years it was a goal
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/06
What was for many years a goal, turned into a let down. I had for many years been impressed by what I knew of the Crazy Horse Memorial project. But my visit there in May of 2006 changed my mind.

Admission of $10 to the grounds seemed steep. But the additional charge to take a bus ride to the base of the mountain where the sculpture is being made ...

  • Will be neat when it is finished
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/06
What they have done is neat to see, from a distance, which is all you can see it from without paying more to take a bus ride to the base. Otherwise you can only get to the museum and shops. Didnt mind paying the cost to get because I know it is supporting the project, but objected to paying again to take the ride to the base. One the project is ...
