I learned a lot about modern art, and Warhol himself...
The content of the exhibit at the time was not exactly for families, but it was still very interesting, and there was a lot to see.
The gift shop had a lot of cool stuff, too.

Disappointment

Went to see the Ron Mueck exhibit. Disappointed that picture taking was prohibited because it would have been nice to take a picture next to one of the Mueck exhibits to send to friends. How can digital pictures (no flashing) hurt an exhibit? Museum staff followed us around as if to police/enforce the no-picture rule, yet we were 4 of maybe 8 ...
Andy Warhol is over rated to say the least; I had art students with more talent. Do You realize this is the largest museum in the country devoted to one person? Besides, although he was from Pittsburgh, he hated the place. He used to lie & say he was from elsewhere. He doesn't deserve the memorial.

Seriously?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
The museum is very well done and is by far the most comprehensive single artist museum i've ever been to. My personal feeling is that its just not needed.. Andy warhol did some nice thing but doesn't need a 5 floor museum... If you however disagree with that then you will love it!
The Andy Warhol Museum is a great tribute to an excellent artist. The museum has a welcoming atmosphere. From the cafe to the museum floors, employees are pleasant and anxious to answer questions. The pieces lend a perspective on history that is priceless. Bravo! I am a teacher and only wish I lived close enough to take my students. Don't ...

Very Nice

This was a very great place... I really liked the cloud room... I went with my parents and they thought that was the coolest part... If you are into art this is a great place to go..... Andy was a genious.
Fantastic experience if you're a fan of Andy Warhol....7 floors entirely of his work! If you're a teacher, they also have a great education department which offers a unique workshop allowing an entire group to complete a silkscreen painting in the style of Warhol. Not to be missed!

a great place for a rainy day, or any day really.

welcoming enviroment, and not too many people telling you to "step back from the art work", so you can actually observe andy's work up close.

The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburg PA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/04
I have always reconized Andy Warhol as one of the great American artists. After a short stop to this museum (which was more of a side trip rather than our intended destination), my opinion has changed drastically. The seven floors that are dedicated to this prolific and fantastic artist will make even the most dull-witted think, laugh, cry, and ...
