  • What service???
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/17/07
The ambiance and the beers were really good.
Out of 7 beers only one was not so great. The food was a bit pricy but flaverfull. You do come here for the beers however. The service was way below subpar. We had to go to the bar after waiting for 5 minuets to get a table. They were really slow at this time of day(4:30).Then the service at the bar was ...

  • Big disappointment
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/09/06
I couldn't wait to go to this place. It's a converted church, that's now a brewery. How could it NOT be cool? Well, the beer isn't great, the food is overpriced and not all that good, the service was below average and the place is too loud on top of it.

  • We shall not return.
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/20/06
The noise level is too high to make this a restaurant in which one might hope to hold a conversation.

The service was much slower than is typical of restaurants in the area, and the server was inept at getting the orders right.

Most of all, the food is mediocre compared to that of so many restaurants in and around Pittsburgh, making it a restaurant we agreed was a "never again."

  • Worth the trip
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/15/05
The restaurant is actually built in an old church with the microbrewery sitting on the front alter where sermons would have been given. The large ceilings, well lit dining area, and excellent service contribute to the experience. They offer a great menu along with their own special brews. I look forward to returning again.

Church Brew Works is a wonderful dining experience offering lunch and dinner. Full service bar specializing in their own homemade beer and soda you can't go wrong. If you are ever in Pittsburgh or near it is definitely worth the trip!
