  • GREAT HISTORIC EXPERIENCE
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/07
I LOVE TOURING OLD HISTORIC MANSIONS AND MUSEUMS, ON MY HONEYMOON MY HUSBAND AND I TOURED THE CAPT FLAVEL MANSION. I LOVED IT, IT ADDED ALITTLE BIT OF SCARINESS KNOWING THE CAPT AND ONE OF HIS DAUGHTERS DIED RIGHT IN THE HOUSE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF WE COULD HAVE EXPLORED THE 3RD FLOOR BUT OVERALL WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE.

  • Beautiful Museum
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/07
The Flavel house was very beautiful and full of historic facts. It was very informational, and the grounds were gorgeous. I would recommend visiting if you enjoy historical landmarks and victorian style homes and furnishings.

  • A worthwhile tour
    By Walter, 07/05/05
The flavel mansion is a trip in time back to an elegant lifestyle. The fourteen foot ceilings are a part of what makes this house feel grand. It is complete with furnishings, carpet, window treatments, art work, and other items typical of the time when the house was a home to the Flavels.

  • Fun things to do in old houses.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/05
It's hard to get kids interested in a restored old house, but their Mother's Day Tea and Scones and Victorian Fun and Games had my kids interested and enthusiastic to go back.

And I couldn't beat the price, the Fun and Games day was free.

I hear their Christmas Plumb Puddiing Dinner is good too, but I haven't been to it myself yet.
