This is by far the worst zoo I have ever been to. There is only one lone wolf (with a rubber ball in his cage), one black bear, 3-4 elks, a white owl, a couple of eagles and some farm animals. What a waste of money and time!!

I did not dislike anything about the zoo.I grew up in Carthage,it was a fun place to visit when i was a kid and now it is still a great place to go with my kids.They LOVE every part of the zoo.I especially love seeing my Grandfathers donation of mounted animals.Murray A. Matteson.It is a great learning tool for the kids!!!!

This is a nice-sized zoo and the animals seem to be well-cared for. It isn't overwhelming for small children.

On the negative side, the staff seemed inattentive when I was there on Memorial Day, a lot of animals were off exhibit, and the few items in the gift shop were expensive.

I last visited this zoo when I lived in Watertown about 7 years ago. Back then the zoo seemed to be struggling, but staying above water. I visited Watertown only to find the zoo much larger than before. More exhibits, more to do, a nice new visitor center.
