    By Squishy, 08/16/09
I have gone twice this week, and I plan to go again tomorrow. It is by far the most fun thing I have ever done. And its BEAUTIFUL!! The staff are wonderful and well knowledgeable. Ready to answer any questions you have. It is amazing that mother nature can make such beautiful places yet have such an eerie feeling as you walk around in the dark, ...

  • We can't wait to go back!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/08
we loved this place. we chose to hike down with our 3 children, ages 3-10. it was an easy hike, a bit steep in some parts but with the handrails the entire trail, not a problem. I think taking the elevator you would miss way to many fascinating things. We also stayed for the bat flight which was incredible. Can't wait to go again. ...

  • BAD!
    By Melissa, 03/10/08
We went here March 4th 2008, we soon found out that the caves were being remodled, everything that was inside was now outside. I was told that stollers were not allowed in the caves at all. It seemed like it took us an hr to finally get to the point to enter the caves after walking what seem like a mile. I have been to the cave many times before ...

  • Amazing
    By Peter K, 08/27/07
Unbelievable, just go. One specific tip though is that pick your visit time carefully if you like to walk briskly. The 1 or 2 trails in the cave are narrow and most people walk as if they'd been suddenly transported to another planet, which is pretty much the case. Anyhow I planned to go through several times not like jogging or anything but, ...

  • We loved it with one exception
    By the Roehls, 08/04/07
This is a terrific place to see! We highly recommend the bat flight, walking down the natural entrance and going through the Big Room.

We also took the Left Hand Tunnel tour. Their description says it is a lantern-lit tour, the guide will highlight Carlsbad Cavern history, formations, cave pools and Permian-age fossils. Well... it was ...

  • Don't miss
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/06
the bat flight, one of the most amazing sights of nature I've ever witnessed. And if you're physically up to the challenge, take the lower cave tour. Three hours of hiking through, around, and under the most amazing rock formations you will ever see. Book early, as they only take twelve people once a day. My husband and I still can't believe we did it!

  • Carlsbad Caverns 2006
    By Leslie, 07/27/06
You need to go see the bats leave the cave around 7-7:45pm (Free) This is a very large cave and has a "Moon rock" feeling to it. I have been her 3 times in 30 years and it seems dryer and more brown gray each time. We went to Karcher Caverns in Arizona on this trip also. My children liked Carlsbad more because of the size. I liked ...

  • Great Caverns!
    By Juicee and Tarabear, 07/09/06
I had never been to caverns before. This was great to see. I took plenty of pics. Taking the elevator down was an experience. It made my ears pop and you could see how many feet you were going down. Altogether it was 750 feet below the main surface. I know that it is also gorgeous outside the caverns.
