The Daughters of the American Revolution maintain this house and garden. They are extremely knowledgeable about the origins, owners and guests of the house throughout the American Revolution and beyond! Of particular interest is Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler courted and were betrothed in 1780 in the house.

Site of Alexander Hamilton & Betsy Schuyler's whirlwind romance
The house was also the setting of Alexander Hamilton and Betsy Schuyler's whirlwind romance, which occured during General Washington's second winter encampment in Morristown 1779-80. I recently attended the gala Betrothal Party, complete with re-enactors from the well known soap opera, One Life to Live.
