These horses get great daily turnout in a herd. This is what every horse really wants. Many fancy private barns barely see grass, open space, or get to make friends in the field. This are happy horses, I should know, I am looking at them right now.

I haven't taken lessons there, but I used to live in Basking Ridge and have attended their hunter paces. The trails are superb. The horses looked to be in good condition and the place was neat and well maintained. One great thing - once their horses can no longer be used for lessons, they have a volunteer group that works very hard to find ...

Lord Stirling the best!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/09
This is a rebuttal to "Lord Stirling a Joke." First, LSS does not have 80+ horses and the horses do have good stalls and excellent facilities. The horses are well-groomed. As for being tacked up for hours, this is not true; besides no horse is allowed to work for more than 3 hours per day. (That's a lot less than the people have to ...

Well...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/09
This is good place to get the basics of horse back riding down, and the lessons are VERY inexpensive, but you don't learn how to take care of a horse unless you take a summer workshop there. And since many children sign up for the beginner lessons, the beginner class can have a max of 7 kids in it. Would a good trainer at another stable be more ...
My daughter has taken lessons there for the past 3 years or so. I am a rider myself. The instructors seem disinterested and when faced with students that have challenges learning, can't seem to help. I was actually told by staff that sometimes riders "can't progress". In that case - they won't tell you that - they'll just ...

Lord Stirling Stables

I think that LSS is a wonderful place to learn how to ride and love horses. LSS is my favorite stable and i ride there all the time. The horses are soooo much fun. They all have different personalities, but that's OK. Please come join us at LSS. You'll never regret it!
Ok, i ride at LSS and a place in Morris (Seaton Hackney). LSS is more careful and has huge groups. Its a county facility... HELLO!!!! Those horses are used a lot, but they are taken care of, believe me. I have done camp there, and they stay tacked up for some time, but its not abuse. I wouldnt recommend riding there is u r too good, bc they ...

Lord Stirling is a joke
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/07
Lord Stirling is a complete joke. There are 80+ horses that don't even have "real stalls." They're tiny 3 wall boxes with a rope at the end so the horse doesn't escape. The facilities are atrocious, the ASPCA should be on their case.
The horses don't get groomed properly and are tacked up for hours. No wonder they ...

Well Maintained Trails and Very Clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/06
I have ridden, raised, trained and owned horses for over 30 years and recently brought one of my horses there to participate in a hunter pace this fall. The people were friendly and the facilities clean, and the trails and pace route were beautifully marked and maintained with fantastic jumps for different riding levels. The event was pleasant ...
