I am a Hannibal Native, but now live out of town with my husband and eight month old. We left our little boy with fam (we never get out anymore), and was excited to have a night to ourselves... excited to take him to sawyers creek, he had never been, and will never be, because it's closed down! as in out of business! so disappointing! and apparently what will be done with the establishment is up in the air...

  • Do NOT take children to Sawyer's Creek!
    By CaseyW, 10/13/08
We went to the cafe on a recommendation from Mark Twain's Cave across the street. There were drunk and disorderly people in the restaurant that were not eating in the restaurant, just visiting people that were eating. They were using profanity loudly and in abundance and there were many children and families eating. The people seated behind us ...

  • A Happy Place
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/08
When my son and I visited, it was near the end of the season a couple of years ago. The staff was friendly, the golf fun, and the atmosphere happy. Although we haven't been back to Hannibal since, I often look at their web site to see the pictures!

  • Won't be recommending this place!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/07
My family and I went and we did enjoy playing put put in the dark (orange Halloween lights and Halloween decor neat). The price was fair.

The pumpkin patch was tiny and on a small porch area and there was really nothing to it. Yippy!!

Now the real kicker is that they were offering a Haunted House and was told by some staff in their ...

  • Their Onion Rings
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/07
We stopped in on our way into town and had lunch. You have to try their onion rings, but make sure you plan on sharing cause 1 person cant eat them all. They are seasoned and served with a dip that was out of this world. The staff were very kind and friendly. We stopped in the shops and looked around. Planning a return trip next month and we will be stopping there again.

  • Great leg-stretcher for parents and kids.
    By C., 05/19/07
Sawyer's Creek was a fun stop for my wife, son, and me. Not only did we get the little tike out of the car for nearly 3 hours, but he had fun the entire time - playing mini-golf, water balloons, and bumper boats.

What was more impressive, was the courtesy the staff showed us. Everyone was warm and cordial. I felt like we were welcome - ...

  • 2007: Our Family Loved It
    By Shane, 05/19/07
We visited on May 18, 2007 on our way back from Branson. I'd seen their website indicated "New Ownership" so I emailed them asking 'how long' the new owners had been in place, if their website was up-to-date, and whatnot.

They replied within 12 hours (amazingly quick, in my opinion).

Because of their quick response, ...

  • It was ok!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/06
It was ok. The game room was on 2 floors and alot of them didn't work, the bumber boats had issues, and there were only 2 kids working all of the rides/outdoor games. They need more staff and better equipment.

  • Needs Improvement
My son loved the water bumper boats. He loved the water wars. He would have done that all day, had it not cost $3 per 6 balloons. For awhile he was the only child there. Bummer. But it was on a Monday and very hot in July. I'm sure a group would love it a lot better. Highlight of my day was dining with a riverside view and watching the riverboat turn around and feeding the huge catfish in the bumperboat pond.

  • Great time, but could have been better
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/06
I've been here in the past, but this time it did not seem up to it's normal par. Water scummy, some things not open. Prices posted on their web site were not available. Beautiful place, but... Give it a try--probably better by now.
