We reserved walk-in campsites at this place - Some were pretty decent. The ones that we got were terrible with no shade and almost no privacy - considering we had to hike a third of a mile to get there. Also, the size was really small for a walk-in and the restroom was not well maintained at all!!

Frotenac is gorgeous. Although getting to the river is daunting, and sort of perilous. The long and winding paths follow the banks and then wander across the street into a prarie that circles a pond, only to return to the park up an extremely long and tall hill.
Great scenery, good workout, and very secluded. When I was there during the week I didn't see a single soul in sight. Great for Deer sighting too!
The park is not an impressive one to enter, after driving amid the big bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, this is almost a letdown. The main entrance is over a swamp and then up what appears to be a modest hill. However, it's deceptive, as it puts you on top of a forested bluff.
