This place is a joke! The captain we had was rude and insulting, the worker in the store who booked the trip even admitted this captain had numerous customer complaints! The rest of the captains are old timers with 40 year old boats..

A huge disappointment, and awful experience for my family...

went to stop in and buy some fishing tackle...drove around for 20 minutes because I couldnt find a parking spot. Went up the road to Lakeshore Outfitters and was in and out in 4 minutes....the owner Aaron at Lakeshore was a great help and had exactly what I needed. Won't be venturing into dtown Saugatuck anytime soon with all the tourist activity

Me and the family took a trip on one of the pontoons and the kids had so much fun we had to take it out again. Great staff and very friendly. After reading the reviews on here I can't help but imagine the old owners are responsible for some of the negative reviews. We had a fantastic time.

Have booked 4 charters through these guys over the years, every year a different boat, all but one have been filthy and most crew have been rude. I learned my lesson finally. This is a unprofessional operation, at least the fishing boats are.

"One stop shopping" for outdoor rentals. During our vacation our family rented boats, bikes, and even took advantage of a Fishing Charter opportunity! The staff's attitude was great and the prices were very reasonable. We'd reccomend to everyone who is spending time in the Saugatuck area.

Big Lake Outfitters was recently purchased by new owners who are really changing the look and feel of the store. They told my husband and I that the summer of 09 they will be bringing in new merchandise. Their service was great and had 4-6 pontoon boats, kayaks, mopeds, and bikes available for rent, just make sure to call ahead and reserve.

Nothing to dislike...

Just bought a kayak from them. They made a great deal for me on a used kayak, as I was not in town long to accept a new kayak. They threw in a paddle and I was good to go. Very accomodating in my opinion.

To comment on the other reviews: Call ahead for details and if you are looking for a "clean" boat launch ...

I took my family to Big Lake Outfitters to kayak and was gravely dissapointed! They pitch "nature" and "scenic"; however the reality is its a marina you paddle through!

There is no drop off/pick up point, they literally make you carry the kayaks about 50 yards to a scummy boat launch and then expect you to carry it back to ...
