It chilled me to walk through a home with so many spirits still lurking in the walls - watching a gathering of people who will never grasp the true terror of the times that transpired in Old Salem. Though most people are unaware of their presence, they remain with the sole purpose to remind us of those times - to never forget and never let them ...

The real deal
By darkzelda98011, 09/22/06
The name of the place is a bit confusing as I would have called it "The Witch Trial Judge House" but nevertheless here you really got an authentic feel for the whole period. Funny, when I entered I was immediately informed that this was a historic house and I could not hide how pleased I was that I was not trapping in another trap.
This is pretty much the only "historic" location in salem regarding the witch trials. I reccommend it if you like history and old houses. It sure is a lot better than the cheesy "haunted houses" that make you think they are a museum!!

This was cool. They did a 20 inute segmant on the witch trials and they did it with story telling and everyone stands near a red circle or around it, etc. very good.

Cool glimpse of past history
By jerzzgirl33, 06/26/07
Well, first off, the house doesn't look the same as the picture on here. There is no awning over the front walk and I don't remember seeing those boulders around the front either. They must have sealed up the front door at some point as all traffic enters and exits through the back. I thought it was pretty cool to see that this house and ...

The Witched Visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/05
The visit to the Witch House was definitely worth the trip. As we approach the house, we felt something different about it, not only for its architecture but also for the history behind it. I definitely recommend a visit in the month of October, so you can feel witch-powered for Halloween.

Great bit of wicked history
By scully931, 04/18/06
I found the Witch House to be very interesting. It has been kept (whenever possible) in original condition. I definately got a sense of what life would have been like back then. Plus, thinking of all the conversations that must have gone on there during the witch trials made it even more interesting.

Small house, big history
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/06
The most interesting thing for me about this house was the history within it. It's really really old, still standing, and the story behind it's owners helps add to the ambiance. I did get dizzy upstairs... no real reason why, it was just hard to stay up in the bedrooms for too long. I didn't do the guided tour, and that may have made it more interesting. Getting the combo ticket with the trolley was a good deal.
